Do Brands really tell the quality of the products you buy?

Have you ever considered seriously "Does a brand really tell its products' quality?"
Well, this sounds a quite common question, and most of the people asked may directly say " Yes" without any hesitation.
However,the truth is,you can never tell its quality only by judging from its brands.
Brands are eveywhere in our life, about shoes,clothes,cell phones,TVs,Cameras,etc.
And it seems that at most times, whenever we want to buy a product, we may ask our relatives or friends like this, "Hey,Mike, which brand of your cell phone is? Is it good? I heard that "ABC" Brand is quite popular among people,what do you say if I buy one?"
Well,I may have to say that it is so hard to say.Coz I always believe that a brand cannot tell its products' real quality.Also You may only see that it is very popular,but you've never checked or tried its products' quality, right? 

Sure it may be quite popular recently, but that doesn't mean it is qualified with high quality.
Most people have such characteristics. Allow me to explain some about this.

When we are walking on the street, and suddently we see a place surrounded by large group of people,at most times,for most of us, we may go and check what is happening there. And this is a common scene.So what is it? I tell you, it is what drives you there--------your curiosity.
And this is also similar to the reason why most of the people will buy a new product with very good promotion advertisements on websites,TV shows and newspapers.

And sometimes when a supplier of some items, like cell phones, sell their procducts on the website with words descriptions like" Only Today, Don't lose your Chance" or " Great Discount only Today" or “ Only 1200 sets on sale, only one chance",etc, people may tend to buy in a hurry. And we call this " Hunger-Marketing"
You can still find their same product on the same website the next day,this product is not gonna be got off the shelves.

So what is the relationship the words you mentioned above with "Brands" ?
Well,they do have very close relationships,my friends.
Brands contain so many factors,like advertisement,marketing,comments from users,etc.
So it is really very very hard to tell a product's quality only by its brand.
Also there's one issue in the business called "Customized items"
That is to say,the brands belong to your direct products supplier,but the goods actually are not produced by them.Some suppliers buy products with producers' brands,some provide their own brands to producers and customize products.So the quality will finally depend on the quality of that producers' products, instead of the suppliers' brands.
Another thing is, even from the same  suppliers,if the item is not same,its quality is not same,too. Take mattresses as an example,if you buy pocket spring mattresses, bonnell spring mattresses,contitious spring mattresses,etc, the quality of the springs are not at same levels,so how can you say the brands represent the quality of the products you buy?
The answer is "You buy what you pay for."

So next time when you want to buy something,do remember to ask what types and materials of this item will be okay with me,instead of asking which brand of this product should I go to buy.
